Job Summary

Position: Discipline Facilitator

Campus: Dickinson Junior High School

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt/Professional

Immediate Supervisor(s): Campus Principal

Pay Grade: Per Compensation Manual AP4

Days Employed: Per Compensation Manual 193

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Support the campus in creating and maintaining a safe orderly equitable and positive learning environment
  • Blend instructional expertise behavioral support and campus-level discipline coordination
  • Collaborate with teachers administrators and families to implement proactive behavior strategies manage discipline procedures and support students with behavioral or social-emotional needs
  • Ensure compliance with district state and federal guidelinesincluding special education and general education behavior protocols
  • Assist the Principal in developing and maintaining a campus-wide discipline management system
  • Monitor the implementation of student behavior plans
  • Provide behavioral intervention support to students and staff
  • Contribute to restorative practices positive behavior intervention systems and data-driven decision-making to improve school climate and student outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university
  • Masters degree (preferred)
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
  • Specialized training/experience in behavior support crisis prevention or restorative

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of curriculum instruction and classroom management
  • Knowledge of disabilities student behavior needs and accommodation/modification requirements
  • Strong understanding of behavior intervention strategies restorative practices PBIS/MTSS and de-escalation
  • Knowledge of ARD procedures IEP implementation and behavior plans (BIPs)
  • Ability to analyze behavioral and instructional data
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage student discipline procedures and coordinate campus programs

Experience

  • Three years of successful teaching
  • Experience in behavior special education or campus leadership roles (preferred)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student Behavior Management & Support

  • Serve as a campus discipline facilitator and assist in enforcing a fair consistent and effective discipline management system
  • Provide behavioral intervention support for students including data collection de-escalation and implementation of behavior plans
  • Conduct student behavior conferences restorative conversations and conflict-resolution sessions
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) accommodations and social-emotional supports
  • Support students inside and outside the classroom through check-ins interventions supervision and guidance
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of behavioral goals for general education special education and 504 students
  • Participate in or conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs)

Instructional & Behavioral Support for Staff

  • Provide coaching and modeling of effective classroom management strategies
  • Assist staff in designing writing and implementing appropriate behavioral intervention plans IEP behavioral goals and classroom interventions
  • Facilitate PLCs coaching sessions and collaborative meetings related to student behavior and instructional impact
  • Support the implementation of positive behavioral support systems (PBIS/MTSS) and restorative discipline practices campus-wide

Compliance Documentation & Data

  • Maintain required documentation logs and behavioral data according to district state and federal guidelines
  • Prepare reports and data summaries for ARD 504 RtI LPAC and discipline meetings as assigned
  • Use district platforms for ARD preparation IEP progress updates and behavior data tracking
  • Monitor progress on IEP goals and behavioral objectives and communicate updates to parents and staff
  • Ensure campus-wide discipline and special education procedures follow TEA federal and district regulations

School/Organizational Leadership

  • Assist the Principal with campus discipline systems and ensure rules are applied consistently and equitably
  • Participate in campus improvement planning discipline-related initiatives and climate-building activities
  • Help develop and maintain systems for student supervision throughout the campus
  • Assist in evaluating campus programs related to behavior attendance and student management
  • Support the principal in promoting a positive safe and inclusive school culture

Parent & Community Collaboration

  • Maintain open professional communication with parents regarding behavior issues and interventions
  • Conduct parent conferences related to student behavior discipline or intervention planning
  • Serve as a liaison among students staff parents and community partners in support of student success

Professional Growth & Development

  • Participate in ongoing professional development including crisis intervention training as required
  • Demonstrate professionalism ethical behavior and an openness to change and innovation
  • Stay informed of best practices in instruction behavior support and school discipline

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct the work of instructional aides/paraprofessionals involved in behavioral or instructional support
  • Support the Principal in supervising staff during disciplinary processes student supervision periods and campus operations as assigned

MENTAL/PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent interruptions expected
  • Frequent walking standing bending pulling lifting (light to moderate)
  • Occasional physical restraint of students (when trained and required)
  • Exposure to noise outdoor elements and possible biological hazards
  • Professional dress is required according to district policy

EVALUATION:

  • Performance will be evaluated annually according to district policy
