Job Summary
Greencross Vets in North Parramatta is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated team. As a vital member of our veterinary practice you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients and support to our clients.
Your new role:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations treatments and surgical procedures
- Administer medications and provide post-operative care to patients
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyse samples
- Monitor and care for hospitalised animals
- Educate clients on proper animal care nutrition and preventative health measures
- Maintain accurate medical records and manage appointment schedules
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the veterinary clinic
- Provide emotional support to pet owners during difficult times
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with veterinary nursing practices
Role requirements:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Proficiency in administering medications and assisting with surgical procedures
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing and interpretation of results
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Thorough understanding of animal health welfare and veterinary clinic procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Compassionate approach to animal care and client relations
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic is highly desirable
