Our Hamilton Branch is seeking an experienced Valve Technician with strong technical skills and a proactive mindset to join our team. As a Signatory you will also verify compliance and certification standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Valve Technician you will:
- Carry out valve refurbishments overhauls and related work according to QMS and priorities.
- Adhere to all safe working practices ensuring your own safety and that of others.
- Document all work accurately and submit daily timesheets.
- Report any breaches of QMS to a supervisor or manager.
- Actively seek opportunities to expand your valve repair knowledge.
- Participate in training and provide training to staff when requested.
- Maintain efficient resource use and high housekeeping standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and recommend operational enhancements.
As a Signatory you will:
- Verify documentation accuracy and compliance with QMS procedures.
- Confirm valves meet standards and can be certified accordingly.
- Oversee onsite testing with portable units to ensure compliance.
- Provide training to staff
Qualifications :
- Keen interest in engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience as a Valve Technician.
- Strong customer service focus and ability to build positive client relationships.
- Highly organized and efficient approach to work.
- Positive achievement-oriented mindset with flexibility to think on your feet.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites across New Zealand.
- Knowledge of QMS and valve testing standards is highly desirable.
- Relevant trade qualification or mechanical engineering background preferred.
- A current and clean NZ Drivers licence.
- Ability to complete the physical demands of the role e.g. lifting moving valves working at heights walking distances etc.
