The Senior General Ledger Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting maintaining compliance with accounting standards (e.g. IFRS/US GAAP/ Canada and Ireland) and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role will collaborate with AP/AR/Controller teams and provide insights to improve financial processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries account reconciliations and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS/USGAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Analyze variances and provide explanations for management reporting.
- Support audits (internal and external) and ensure timely resolution of findings.
- Assist in standardization process and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with other finance teams on intercompany partners.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist with Government surveys filings and reporting requirements.
- Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Participate in system upgrades or implementations ensuring proper configuration and testing for accounting processes.
Qualifications :
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to teamwork bringing support to their colleagues.
- .English level: B2 Required
Preferred Skills
- Experience in multinational companies.
- Familiarity with Standard Operational Procedures and financial reporting tools.
