Job Summary
Job Title: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN)
Location: Rochester NY 14621
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Orientation: 16 Hours
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Position Overview
A skilled MS/Tele RN is needed to support a busy high-acuity inpatient unit caring for a wide range of cardiac and medical-surgical patients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a heavy workload interpreting cardiac rhythms and providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Unit & Patient Population
26-bed unit
Typical patient conditions include:
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Acute Myocardial Infarctions (MI)
Post-device care (e.g. pacemakers)
Arrhythmia management
Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7
Floating required as needed
Schedule Details
Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
RTO: Minimal encouraged
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele RN experience
Must be able to independently manage 57 patients
Must have NY RN license in hand no exceptions
Epic charting experience required
Clinical Skills:
Cardiac monitoring:
Interpretation & management of dysrhythmias
Participation in Rapid Response and Code Teams
IV therapy/phlebotomy
Peripheral line care & management
Respiratory support:
Nasal cannula
Oxygen face mask
Portable O2
Non-invasive airway management
Infection prevention & isolation precautions
Required Certifications
BLS (AHA)
ACLS (AHA)
