DescriptionThe Assistant Operations Manager supports the Distribution & Customer Service Manager SEA in overseeing logistics operations and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. This role ensures timely and compliant inbound shipments accurate inventory control and effective Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP). The incumbent will drive operational excellence resolve logistics issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing delivery and inventory management.
Responsibilities- Logistics Operations
- Monitor purchase orders and coordinate with global planning and shipping teams for timely inbound shipments.
- Resolve shipping-related issues with freight forwarders.
- Ensure accuracy of Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN) and shipping documentation.
- Liaise with customs brokers to ensure compliance with local customs regulations.
- Coordinate with 3PLs for timely receipt of shipments and resolve operational/system issues.
- Manage 3PL relationships and drive cost reduction and service improvement initiatives.
- Reconcile inventory between internal systems (Oracle) and 3PL Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Ensure compliance with Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance (RAQA) requirements.

- Support S&OP processes including data analysis forecasting and KPI tracking.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to incorporate marketing plans into demand forecasts.
- Analyze inventory gaps and coordinate with global planning teams to meet targets.
- Identify and execute strategies together with sales team for excess or slow-moving inventory.
- Prepare distribution networks for new product launches packaging changes and product discontinuations.
- Documents & Data Maintenance & Enhancements
- Prepare and analyze weekly/monthly operational reports to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor 3PL KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate service levels.
- Create and update SOPs and work instructions for logistics processes.
- Support budgeting forecasting and OPEX management.
- Maintain Oracle data for product and customer master records.
- Collaborate with IT teams for system testing troubleshooting and enhancements.
- Lead vendor RFQ/RFP processes when required.
Travel:
- Once a month to 3PL to understand warehouse operations.
QualificationsKnowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficient in logistics operations and inventory control.
- Skilled in data analysis and process mapping.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Visio.
- Team-oriented customer-focused and able to perform under pressure.
Work Environment:
- Office-based role with prolonged computer use.
- Occasional evening conference calls with UK/US stakeholders.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain logistics or 3PL management.
- Experience in S&OP or demand planning is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Oracle or SAP ERP systems is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Operations Management or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
