Housekeeping Floor Managerwho is looking to move their career to the next level. This position is accountable to the Rooms Operations Manager willensure guest room and public areas meet the standards of safety functionality usability and cleanliness expected by our guests and employees.
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:- Attend daily pre-shift (applicable to both AM and PM) with Room Attendants Porters Housepersons Overnight Cleaner and Laundry Attendants. Receive daily communication/instruction from Manager including additional tasks as assigned.
- Ensuring Houseman and Lobby Porters have clear consistent daily checklists that are being utilized and completed during their shift.
- Prioritize cleaning and inspecting of guest rooms based on communication with front desk and understanding of arrival timelines for VIPs and/or groups as outlined in resumes. Re-assigning rooms where necessary based on business demand and sleep signs.
- Inspire and motivate Room Attendants to clean rooms thoroughly thereby meeting Hotel Arts 90% cleanliness standard score. Inspire and motivate Public and Retail Area Attendants to consistently meet the cleanliness standards our guests expect.
- Complete room audits for Room Attendants as per outlined requirements recording the scores for tracking purposes and annual reviews and coaching/retraining on the spot or providing necessary remediation when needed in a timely manner
- Ensure the organization and cleanliness of chemical storage and inventory storage areas taking into account the inventory present and/or lost
- Monitor the cleanliness/organization of all service areas and carts.
- Report all maintenance concerns to maintenance department via the appropriate channels
- Ensure all Housekeeping Attendants and Porters have the proper cleaning supplies and tools (such as a clean functioning vacuum) needed to complete their daily tasks.
- Monitor and support of Laundry Attendants. Ensuring Laundry Standards are being followed par levels of linen are sufficient on a daily basis tracking of daily load counts proper reclaim/rewash procedures are being met.
- Working with Laundry to organize and track linen discards prior to disposal.
- Inspect the daily VIP arrivals and site rooms according to the inspection guidelines outlined by the department. Communicate with the front office whether they are acceptable for use or should be re-blocked.
- Ensure Housekeeping Attendants are properly attired according to the Hotel Arts uniform standards as well as proper service standards are being met at all times
- Completes and communicates daily Lost and Found Inquiries ensuring the proper documentation and communication of lost items shipped to a guest inquiries pending and resolutions taken with a guest.
- Pass-on through daily log of any communication information and follow up required for the following shift.
- Based on business levels and staffing requirements housekeeping floor managers may at times be required to assist in fulfilling the duties of the various positions within the housekeeping department in order to meet operational requirements and guest service levels.
- Ensure all Health & Safety guidelines as well as WCB claims and requirements are followed at all times including in the absence of the rooms operations manager.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- 3 years experience in Housekeeping Front Office Operations or Rooms required.
- Knowledge in Opera or other Property Management Systems required.
- Computer proficiency and Microsoft Office product knowledge required
- Previous supervisory/management experience is a critical asset.
- Previous in Laundry Room operations is an asset.
- Positive professional motivating personality with great leadership skills.
