*** Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular Board of Regents (BOR) and Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Other Conditions: Casual Hire temporary appointment is expected begin December 2025 or soon thereafter. Not to exceed 89 days.

Duties:

  1. Analyze and resolve application data exceptions (e.g. suspense document matching data comparison). Route complex cases lacking clear guidelines to supervisor
  2. Migrate validate and maintain data integrity across the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Student Information System (SIS) other shared repositories to ensure timely admissions application processing and communication.
  3. Assist with data entry when technical solutions are unavailable or feasible ensuring adherence to workflow standards.
  4. Assist with software quality assurance and user acceptance testing for program release bug fixes and new features including the creation of test data and comprehensive bug reporting to ensure all systems satisfy Admissions team needs.
  5. Utilize UH Hilos customer relationship management (CRM) and student information system (SIS) evaluate undergraduate applications for admission and ensure timely admission decisions.
  6. Maintain expertise and apply strong working knowledge of current student admission requirements and technology.
  7. Provide high-quality timely services to applicants students and staff by managing inquiries (calls and correspondence) to actively guide prospective students through the admissions funnel.
  8. Execute all duties consistent with UH Hilos Admissions Office fostering relationships and collaboration in a complex team environment.
  9. Maintain a full working knowledge of evaluating credentials and global education systems and standards.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion and promote multicultural awareness on campus.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in any field and 1 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with customer relationship management (CRM) or data management responsibilities; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated. Considerable working knowledge of recruiting admissions and education technology along with the principles and techniques of higher education enrollment services.
  2. Considerable working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws rules and regulations associated with higher education.
  3. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide-ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the root cause of problems and implement solutions in an effective innovative and timely manner.
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for clearly and accurately conveying information and ideas to diverse audiences.
  5. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders prospective students and a diverse public.
  6. Demonstrated ability in utilizing and operating software applications such as the Student Information System (SIS) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases and the Microsoft/Google productivity suites.
  7. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with the public including a diverse population of prospective students community members education providers and other stakeholders.


Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience working in a fast-paced university admissions office.
  2. Professional experience demonstrating ability to learn and apply new technologies independently and in a timely manner using available resources.
  3. Strong spelling grammar and arithmetic skills.
  4. Professional experience demonstrating effective time management and organizational skills and successfully managing multiple projects and priorities.
  5. Considerable knowledge of the University of Hawaii and/or University of Hawaii System programs policies procedures and goals.
  6. Knowledge of Hawaiian and/or Pacific Island customs and culture.
