We have an exciting opportunity for a female Womans Engagement Recovery Coordinator for an identified caseload of females. The aim of the post is to work flexibly to meet the needs of this targeted cohort to address substance and alcohol misuse through a multi-agency approach via gender specific treatment strategies. The post holder will work both in Gateshead Recovery Partnership hub with potential for outreach intervention. The role will require mandatory working patterns across our late-night provision to maximise service user engagement.

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual so being flexible curious and a good listener are key.

Where:Gateshead

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Full Time Salary: 27861.26 - 32002.35 Dependent on experience (based on full time hours pro rata for part time)

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing screening assessment and recovery planning and onward referral
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Provide bespoke interventions for identified service users with the aim of engaging people in the most appropriate service for their needs reducing reoffending and bringing about positive client outcomes.
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery resilience peer support and self-determination
  • Develop working protocols with local support services to operate a joint bespoke gender specific enhanced treatment offer to addressing substance misuse and offending.
  • To facilitate group interventions and deliver trauma informed care approaches.
  • To work in close partnership with local services to strengthen pathways for women involved with substance misuse to enable individuals to reduce harm and support on-going recovery.
  • Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users such as: anger management sleep disorders relationships etc
  • Expand measures to improve accessibility to service via outreach services and drop-in facilities. Alongside the harm reduction team work to deliver harm reduction provisions in the community.

About you:

  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
  • Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
  • Be an excellent communicator both verbal and written with good IT skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in effective risk management planning working with females with specific and complex needs.
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions services and good practice
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals agencies and internal/external stakeholders
  • Experience of providing harm reduction advice and information that reduces the potential negative impact of drug use on individuals their families/carers and communities and which improves physical and psychological health and well-being.
  • Experience of motivating individuals to recognise the benefits of accessing structured treatment and supporting them to do so.
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
