Position Description
Job Title: Educational Support Team (EST) Coordinator
Location: Assigned District School
Job Group: Teacher
Reports To: Principal
Summary: The EST Coordinator functions as the leader of the multi-disciplinary team ensuring data-based decisions and goal-oriented plans for all qualified students. Provides building-based support to teachers in the implementation of Educational Support Plans (ESP) for students; coordinates meetings; manages the data base of student plans and maintains and appropriately accesses school-based resources as available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Provides support and oversight for the schools EST by:
- Reviewing referrals and collecting requisite data and information from teachers parent/guardians and other school community members.
- Working with EST members to monitor review and revise student EST plans to ensure that each ESP has specific measurable appropriate and time-limited goals and that suggested program supports and accommodations are effective.
- Coordinating and facilitating meetings and recording EST meeting minutes.
- Maintaining the EST student data base including: current student lists due dates for ESP review and grade level reports. Enters student information records meeting minutes and team communications. Keeps current records of EST actions including: referrals written plans and timelines to help with individual progress and systemic interventions.
- Serving as a resource to teachers in identifying student data sources goal development and school-based resources.
- Developing and providing records reports and related assignments to the building principal promptly and efficiently.
- Remains current on assigned subject matter by seeking and participating in opportunities for professional growth. Actively engages in all EST meetings and in external trainings as needed or requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelors Degree with a Valid Vermont Teaching License.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply current research and theory to instructional program; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships others; skilled in oral and written communication. Demonstrates ability to adjust to and use new approaches in the performance of his/her duties.
