Collaborative Head Start Paraeducator 2526 SY

Head Start is a federally funded early childhood program that promotes school readiness by providing comprehensive education health nutrition and family support services to eligible children and families.

Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a General Education Paraeducator to assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing instructional support in Head Start classrooms throughout the division. Unique to this position as a Collaborative Paraeducator this role will require travel to different schools to best support the needs of our students andour school teams.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments
• Assists with evaluating and testing students
• Works with small groups of students in various subject areas
• Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups
• Monitors students whereabouts and observe student safety
• Performs routine clerical duties such as copying typing answering/making telephone calls and basic troubleshooting
• Performs additional non-instructional duties including but not limited to cafeteria duty bus duty hall duty and office duty

Education and Experience:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional educational or related setting
• Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Basic First Aid and CPR certification
