Position Overview
Our client a leading law firm specializing in medical malpractice defense is seeking two skilled Litigation Attorneysone for the Los Angeles office and one for the Orange County office. The Litigation Attorney will manage all aspects of case preparation and litigation support excluding trial and arbitration presentation. This role requires deep expertise in medical malpractice law strong analytical skills and the ability to develop strategic case approaches.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Litigation Support

Collaborate closely with trial attorneys in developing litigation discovery and investigation strategies.

Prepare pleadings motions and discovery responses.

Attend and participate in court appearances.

Prepare cases for trial or arbitration ensuring all filing deadlines and requirements are met.

Handle deposition representation for Depo-only cases.

Assist with preparation of comprehensive reports to Claims Specialists at all phases of litigation.

Respond to Claims Department hotline inquiries as needed.
Collaboration & Compliance

Ensure cost-effective case preparation and overall defense strategy.

Share legal knowledge and case insights with other attorneys.

Comply with Defense Attorney Guidelines.

Work closely with Claims Specialists to achieve consensus on defense planning.
Team & Leadership

Operate independently while contributing to team success.

Mentor and support junior attorneys and staff counsel as needed.

Promote a collaborative and enthusiastic team environment.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Licenses & Skills

Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Strong understanding of medical issues relevant to malpractice claims.

Excellent written oral advocacy and case-management skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
