DescriptionResponsibilities
Be on the technology and supply chain forefront for the Manufacturing and Operations team within Supply Chain Operations. As the regional factory Product Engineer you will engage directly and be co-located with our suppliers ensuring a high-quality partnership with Design Engineering External Manufacturing Partners Data Center Operations and your Operations Engineering peers you will manage the external manufacturers to meet the rapidly growing and changing demands of our customers while maintaining a high-quality operation. Success requires a well-rounded Engineer who can navigate an ambiguous and fast-paced organization and capable of both strategic and deep tactical engagement as appropriate. You will need to be a self-starter communicate effectively and be courageous enough to challenge the status quo.
This role will require on-site interaction with our EM partners in the region. We are focused on bringing new products to market and sustaining high quality throughout the lifecycle in a way that exceeds customer expectations.
- Be an extension of the operations and product teams and be the technical lead interfacing with the suppliers in the region.
- Posses a mix of software and hardware knowledge and expertise
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting hardware software and firmware issues.
- Excellent technical management skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to read and understand board schematics able to understand system design architecture.
- Ability to interpret design and influence operations test software code and processes to ensure a high-quality product that meets the design intent
- Ensures that high performing technical manufacturing processes are implemented and sustained for a product. This includes defining and meeting product specific cost quality reliability and product delivery goals. May include designing and gaining approval for investment in equipment and software.
Drives continuous improvement programs for specific products and drive technical corrective action processes when a specific product does not meet key targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer engineering or related field of study
- 5 years of engineering product development or support experience in an external manufacturing environment
- Technical troubleshooting and debug skills relating to computer systems hardware and software.
- Ability to leverage statistical data analysis methods including analysis of experiments and statistical process control (SPC).
- Unix/Linux background and familiarity.
- Familiarity with X86 and GPU system architecture.
- Familiarity with high tech system manufacturing processes.
