Summary

The Sr. SoftwareEngineer is a key role of theTechnology and Product Development(TPD)Teamthat deliversforward leaning technology and solutions to CAEthroughresearch andnew productsdevelopment initiatives.TheSr.Software Engineeris responsible fordevelopmentoffull-stack applications working with a team of software engineers to build high performance containerizedsolutionsusinganAngular or Reactframework for front-end development and.NETframework for back-enddevelopment.Thisis a full-time in office position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible forplanning designcoding integrating testing and documenting software/systems in support of products and R&D projectsincollaborationwith Technical Leads and Product Managersto solve complex problems forCAEand theUS Department of Defense

  • Work with cross-functionalteams to integrate solutions into production environments

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment

  • Mentor andprovidetechnical guidancetojunior level software engineers

  • Perform effectively as part of a project team

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelorsormastersdegree in engineering software or computer science

  • Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience or a masters degree in engineering orcomputer science with 3 years of software engineering experience

  • Must have had formal software programming training classes

  • Demonstratedproficiencyinone or moreof the followingprogramming languages:C# C Java JavaScript Python

  • Experience withfrontend frameworks specificallyAngularorReactfor building responsive and dynamic user interfaces

  • Experience with backend developmenton.Netframework

  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

  • Excellentpresentationcommunicationand organizational skills

  • Ability to read analyze and interpret English language professional journals technical procedures or governmentspecifications

  • Ability towritereports business correspondence and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients and customers

  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role

Preferred Skills

  • Experience building and consumingRESTful APIs

  • Foundational knowledge of relational databases with hands-on experience usingPostgreSQL

  • Exposure to messaging systems likeKafkaorRabitMQand caching systems likeRedis

  • Experiencewith containerization technologies primarilyDockerand container orchestration platforms likeKubernetes(K8s)

  • Working knowledge ofPython&Bashfor scripting tooling or minor service development

  • ExperiencewithCI/CD pipelines and version control systems likeGit

  • Experience deployingcontainerizedsoftware to cloud platformslikeAzure

  • Experience with container runtime environments such as Docker and container-orchestration systems such as Kubernetes

  • Experience withMS Visual StudioandVS Code

  • FamiliaritywithLinuxterminal commands and scripting

  • Familiarity with geospatial data using GDALGeoserverOpenLayers Leaflet or Cesium

  • Exposure toMachine Learning and Data AnalyticsVirtual Realityand 3D Modelingisa plus

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form. Shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment

  • Duties performed in aprofessionaloffice environment and manufacturing facilitywith a business casual dress policy. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

  • Must be able to work overtime on andoff-shiftsas

  • Must be able to travel bothdomesticallyand internationally10%
