Location: Pune / Bangalore India
Join the RISC-V Revolution at MIPS!
Introduction:
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive development of AUTOSAR-compliant MCAL (Microcontroller Abstraction Layer) components for our next-gen automotive RISC-V real-time MCUs. This role requires strong technical leadership hands-on embedded expertise and deep familiarity with the AUTOSAR stack safety-critical development flows and low-level hardware-software integration.
Youll work closely with silicon architecture and functional safety teams to deliver production-grade drivers validation infrastructure and safety-compliant software that powers mission-critical automotive systems like ADAS powertrain body electronics and domain controllers.
What Youll Do:
Lead and architect development of MCAL drivers for peripherals like ADC PWM CAN LIN WDG SPI UART etc. based on AUTOSAR standards
Ensure conformance to ISO 26262 (ASIL-D) software development process including: MISRA C compliance HIS metrics and traceability to requirements
Document software architecture design specs and safety work products
Own the end-to-end MCAL development lifecycle from specification design coding unit testing to integration and validation
Collaborate with platform architecture and tools teams to align driver interfaces memory maps interrupt models and SoC integration

610 years of experience in embedded software development with 3 years in MCAL/AUTOSAR
Strong C programming skills and familiarity with MISRA-C AUTOSAR coding standards and static analysis tools (e.g. Polyspace QAC)
Solid understanding of computer architecture especially microcontroller subsystems (clocks resets interrupts DMA timers peripherals)
Hands-on experience with AUTOSAR MCAL development flows including configuration tools (e.g. DaVinci Configurator EB Tresos)
Familiarity with ISO 26262 including requirement traceability unit testing and tool qualification
Experience with hardware bring-up debuggers (Lauterbach iSystem) and lab test equipment
Bonus Points for:
Knowledge of RISC-V ISA or experience porting MCAL to non-AUTOSAR-standard CPU architecture
Involvement in safety audits ASPICE assessments or tool qualification efforts
Experience with customer delivery of MCAL stacks or leading software integration with OEMs/Tier-1s
What Youll Get at MIPS:
Opportunity to work on one of the first ASIL-D RISC-V automotive MCU platforms
Influence SoC design through close collaboration with CPU and hardware teams
