Job Summary

Location:Northallerton North Yorkshire

Hours: Permanent/Apprenticeship/ Inc. part time education

Full Time37.5 hrs per week for age 21 and under

40 Hours per week for over the age of 21

Salary: 20500 - 26150 (All degree fees will be paid by Align Property Services)

A little more about your team

Our Architecture team consists of a diverse group of professionals including experienced architects skilled technologists and enthusiastic apprentices who are mainly based in our Northallerton and Otley offices. We are proud to be a RIBA Chartered practice and have had the opportunity to work on a range of projects that span various sectors including leisure historic buildings refurbishments care homes housing education public and community buildings regeneration and public realm with The Seam in Barnsley and Whitby Maritime Training Hub being two of our most recent. Every day is different with projects across all RIBA Plan of Work stages ranging in value from 50k to 20m and beyond with each scheme having a positive impact on our communities visitors and local businesses.

Since 2016 we have welcomed 43 apprentices across a range of specialism including architecture building and quantity surveying civil engineering and mechanical and electrical engineering. All of our apprentices receive sponsored training to degree level with guided support from their colleagues across all of our disciplines.

What youll be doing

As an Apprentice Architectural Technologist you will support the design and delivery of projects by producing planning building regulation and construction information. Youll create schedules of work and specifications using NBS software while ensuring compliance with current CDM regulations. Working to defined business processes and timeframes you will develop your skills in industry-standard tools such as Photoshop SketchUp AutoCAD and Revit. Youll gain hands-on experience in the technical delivery of education and housing projects across the UK collaborating closely with other disciplines to produce coordinated outputs. Your role will also involve attending client and contractor meetings visiting sites for inspections and surveys and contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality projects.

In return youll receive a structured apprenticeship program with degree-level progression weekly day release to university travel expenses covered 25 days of annual leave and opportunities for professional development. What we are looking for

  • Meets UCAS point requirements for the associated degree course
  • Achieved or predicted A Level grades BBC (or equivalent) are typically required although certain apprenticeship programmes may specify BBB or higher
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (Grades AC / 59) including Maths English and Science
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Holds a UK Driving Licence or is actively working towards obtaining one

The apprenticeship programme:

You will start your Degree Apprenticeship in September 2026 attending a local University on a part time basis usually one day a week and working towards achieving a full undergraduate degree.

The apprenticeship supports career growth through blended learning. It offers business and role-specific training mentoring and practical experience. It includes an induction training days on-the-job learning and access to readily available resources.

Together with the support from your team we will work closely with you over the course of your apprenticeship to support and plan a development pathway that suits you.

A Degree Apprenticeship usually takes between 5-6 years to complete including End Point Assessment.
