AsanEngineering Manager Software Developmentin PitchBooks engineering divisionyou will be leadingsoftware engineeringtesting and surroundingdevelopmentactivities for oneor more teamsfor PitchBook globally. You will work closely with colleagues to buildsimple and elegantsolutions to complex challenges engaging oursoftwareengineersto unearth innovative ways to apply modern technologies and tools to delight our customers with the value of PitchBook data.

This is a full-stack role where you will utilize your strong background inJavaJavascript Reactweb services(REST / gRPC)messaging frameworks(Kafka)cloud technologiescaching and persistenceto buildinnovative and performant will ensureourstream-alignedteamsdevelop mastery of theirdiscretedomainsandhave autonomyownership and accountability for their deliverables.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Leadsoftware developmenttechnical direction execution (operations processes practices and standards) and code qualityfor one or more teams working closely with engineering leadership and product management to craft roadmaps and achieve success criteria
  • Bridge the gap between business/product needs and execution including building and delivering on group-level OKRs identifying resource needsandbuilding execution plans for initiatives
  • Ensuresoftware developmentroadmap items are delivered on-time and with exceptional quality
  • Extend influence across distributedengineeringteams to make strong day-to-day decisions independently through effective knowledge management communities-of-practice mentorship and training
  • Serve as a force multiplier forproductteamsby removing roadblocks implementing process improvements providing frequent and actionablefeedback to team members and building practices for ideation and innovation
  • Ensure robust engineering diagrams are maintained developing a detailed understanding of key aspects of current software state and engaging engineers at a code and design level
  • Describe technical context in intuitive ways for different audiences adapting communication from highly technical deep dives with engineers to non-technical dialogue with executive stakeholders
  • Establish and drive a culture founded in creating belonging psychological safety candor connection cooperation and fun
  • Understand how to apply Agile Lean and principles of fast flow to team efficiency and productivity
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Computer ScienceSoftware Engineering or related field
  • 5 years insoftware in identity management a plus
  • 2 years in an engineering leadership role with direct management responsibilities
  • 3 years hands-on coding and deliveringservices that are provided as a service to other teams as part of a large-scale distributed microservices architecture
  • Experience with Java Spring Framework (including Spring Boot) and Java-oriented middleware technologies are a with Javascript and React (or Angular/Vue)a plus
  • Experience with containerization technologies including Kubernetes and Docker and understand how to build for cloud-scale delivery including scalability resiliency and recoverability
  • Successfullydeliveredonlargetechnical initiativesfrom scoping to launch with a strong metrics focus
  • Experienced and enthusiastic about using AI for productivity and efficiency (GitHub Copilot Claude or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook Word and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $220000-$260000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 15%

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
