Our Electrical Building Services team is committed to designing and delivering innovative efficient and sustainable electrical solutions for a range of buildings. Led by experienced Principal and Senior Engineers the team combines technical expertise with practical problem-solving to ensure high-quality outcomes. Skilled Engineers work alongside enthusiastic apprentices fostering a collaborative environment that supports learning and growth. Together we focus on creating safe reliable and future-ready electrical systems that meet the needs of our clients and communities.

We are an award-winning building design consultancy recently named SME Employer of the Year at the North Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards 2025!

Since 2016 we have welcomed 43 apprentices across a range of specialism including architecture building and quantity surveying civil engineering and mechanical and electrical engineering. All of our apprentices receive sponsored training to degree level with guided support from their colleagues across all of our disciplines.

What youll be doing

As an Apprentice Building Services Electrical Engineer youll be at the heart of shaping the built environment contributing to the design and delivery of innovative electrical systems for buildings. Your role will involve collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to plan design and manage projects from concept to completion. Youll produce design calculations create detailed CAD drawings and carry out building surveys to inform your work. Youll also write technical reports and schedules of conditions ensuring quality and safety through rigorous risk assessments and adherence to established systems. This hands-on experience will give you a solid foundation in electrical engineering while developing your skills in project management problem-solving and teamwork.

In return youll receive a structured apprenticeship program with degree-level progression weekly day release to university travel expenses covered 25 days of annual leave and opportunities for professional development. A competitive salary and clear progression path will be provided as you advance.

What we are looking for

  • Meets UCAS point requirements for the associated degree course
  • Achieved or predicted A Level grades BBC (or equivalent) are typically required although certain apprenticeship programmes may specify BBB or higher
  • To study Engineering subjects a grade C minimum at A level in Maths is essential
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (Grades AC / 59) including Maths English and Science
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Holds a UK Driving Licence or is actively working towards obtaining one

About the Qualification:

You will start your Degree Apprenticeship in September 2026 attending a local University one day a week and working towards achieving a full undergraduate degree.

The apprenticeship supports career growth through blended learning. It offers business and role-specific training mentoring and practical experience. It includes an induction training days on-the-job learning and access to readily available resources.

Together with the support from your team we will work closely with you over the course of your apprenticeship to support and plan a development pathway that suits you.

A Degree Apprenticeship usually takes between 5-6 years to complete including End Point Assessment.
