Summary
The Department of User Experience (UX) at the Kraemer Family Library is responsible for providing excellent guest experience by providing front-line assistance checking out library materials maintaining the physical collection in an organized and accessible manner. This position is an active member of the Department of User Experience and works regularly scheduled shifts at the library assistance desk while also providing oversight of scheduled library student assistants to ensure excellent guest experience throughout the library and assists with other UX responsibilities.
Salary Range:$38329.00- $49457.00 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Non-Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Job Duties:
User Experience Workflow Support (40%)
With the assistance of the Director of User Experience and the Library Assistance Desk Manager manage the hiring onboarding training scheduling evaluating and promotion of Library Student Assistants.
Assist with billing processes including assessing fines and billing patrons for overdue reserves and lost items.
Assist with the Reserves and Equipment collections.
Building Oversight (20%)
Assists in ensuring that the library space is welcoming to UCCS students faculty staff and community of users.
Assists with the building opening and closing as scheduled.
Assists with shelving stack maintenance and shifting projects as directed by the Director of User Experience.
Responds to security situations including patron disturbances and building alarms.
Assist with submitting building-related work orders to address maintenance functionality or cleanliness issues in the library building.
Communicate work orders with User Experience staff and the entire library when necessary.
Departmental Duties (40%)
Provides excellent guest service at the library assistance desk. This includes interacting with library users by answering questions providing circulation assistance responding to complaints or issues providing basic technology support and properly referring advanced level of research or technology questions.
Regularly provides circulation assistance and handling of library materials.
Interprets and explains library rules policies and procedures to library users and has the authority to authorize exceptions to circulation policies or assessed fines.
Indirectly supervises all student employees to ensure good user experience.
Assists the print and electronic course reserves process and helps to verify copyright compliance of course reserve requests.
Reports directly to the Director of UX and escalate issues as necessary in a timely manner.
Participates in special departmental projects assigned by the Director of User Experience.
Serves on committees task forces and teams as directed by the Director of User Experience or Office of the Dean.
