POSITION SUMMARY
The Director Marketing is a strategic leader responsible for directing the airports marketing initiatives mentor and guide a dynamic team and work with major stakeholders to enhance the visibility of the Philadelphia Airport System as a premier international gateway. The Director of Marketing will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the Philadelphia Airport Systems brand digital presence social media campaigns and related functions. This role involves leading a team of marketing professionals including a Digital Marketing Manager Social Media Manager and a team of Marketing Strategists with a focus on mentorship and fostering team development. The position also requires substantial experience with agency partnerships to drive the success of marketing initiatives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead mentor and develop a high-performing team that includes the Digital Marketing Manager Social Media Manager and a team of Marketing Strategists.
- Provide clear direction and foster a collaborative environment that encourages growth innovation and accountability.
Strategic Campaign Development
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns and corporate branding initiatives that enhance the visibility and reputation of the Philadelphia Airport System.
- Engage internal and external stakeholders including airlines concessionaires and community organizations to promote airport amenities and drive revenue.
- Lead the planning and execution of marketing projects to promote specific programs services and strategic initiatives.
Marketing and Branding Excellence
- Lead corporate branding initiatives that promote a positive image of PHL and its value proposition.
- Collaborate with the Director Brand Creative and Director Communications to align marketing strategies with the physical environment and customer experience.
B2B Marketing and Agency Partnerships
- Bring expertise in B2B marketing working closely with agency partners to drive impactful campaigns.
- Cultivate relationships with business partners including airlines local businesses and community organizations to ensure effective collaboration on marketing and branding efforts.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Use passenger data market trends and customer feedback to inform strategic marketing decisions and enhance customer engagement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to airport executives on programs and services to meet the evolving needs of diverse passenger segments.
- Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
Advertising & Consultant Oversight
- Oversee external advertising agencies and marketing consultants ensuring effective execution of marketing initiatives that align with the airports overall branding and marketing goals.
- Direct vendors in the production of marketing materials and collateral to support ongoing campaigns.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proven track record of successfully managing and developing a marketing team and building strong agency relationships
- Experience with marketing strategies in both B2B and B2C environments with measurable results (ROI)
- Strong people management skills including mentoring and leadership of direct reports
- Expertise in Digital and Social Media marketing with experience overseeing social media strategies and campaigns
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality marketing content and materials
- Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in Communications Marketing Public Administration Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in communications marketing or a related field including significant leadership experience
- At least two (2) years of experience leading marketing campaigns with a focus on branding customer engagement and the B2B sector
RESIDENCY
New hires must establish and maintain residency in the city of Philadelphia within 6 months of appointment. Current City of Philadelphia employees must maintain residency in the City of Philadelphia while employed in this position.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
Obtainment of a Security Badge is a condition of employment. Must pass and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) and AOA (Airfield Operations Area) clearance at the time of appointment and during tenure of employment.
