As a Senior Accountant Revenue you will play an important role in our financial close process and scaling our operations. Your main responsibilities include AR invoicing cash application revenue contract review revenue recognition and related entries and other elements of revenue cycle. You will report to our Sr. Revenue Accounting Manager at our San Mateo headquarters.
You will:
- Perform monthly revenue accounting close activities and deliverables (i.e. journal entries account reconciliations revenue reserve calculations month-end analytics etc.)
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
- Complete ASC 606 checklists for new revenue generating contracts.
- Help prepare revenue disclosures for SEC filings.
- Be familiar with item-based revenue recognition for virtual goods.
- Be familiar with revenue recognition for advertising arrangements.
- Manage accurate and compliant recording of transactions while adhering to accounting standards
- Coordinate internal and external audit requests including preparation of supporting reports and documentation and perform SOX internal controls over assigned areas.
- Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts to resolve billing/invoice inquiries discrepancies problems etc.
- Continuously improve the automation of the revenue recognition processes and system efficiencies.
- Work on ad hoc projects and research accounting topics
You have:
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting or related degree (or equivalent work experience) and 5 years of relevant experience (CPA a plus)
- Willingness to contribute beyond the defined role to meet our needs as circumstances require.
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and standards (US GAAP) with 2 years experience working on areas involving ASC 606
- Experience with internal controls and external audit processes
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
- Experience related to NetSuite SQL Tableau Floqast Alteryx Pigment and Zip a plus.
