Position Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician ensures proper decontamination assembly sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and medical devices. The role plays a critical part in maintaining patient safety and supporting perioperative teams in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Comply with ANSI/AAMI standards IFUs SOPs and company policies.
Decontaminate surgical instruments and medical equipment using correct PPE and procedures.
Clean assemble and reassemble complex surgical instruments.
Accurately assemble and wrap instrument sets and trays.
Operate sterilization and processing equipment safely and efficiently.
Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and wear.
Document damaged or missing instruments as required.
Maintain detailed sterilization tracking and inventory records.
Safely handle all instruments and customer-owned equipment.
Complete daily computer tasks logs and documentation.
Monitor supply and instrument inventory reporting shortages as needed.
Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment.
Maintain clean and organized working areas.
Follow best practices for infection control safety and quality standards.
Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of SPD experience including loaner and consignment tray management.
Strong coordination skills across departments and external partners.
Excellent organizational and tracking abilities.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with instrument tracking software.
High level of reliability professionalism and attention to detail.
Required Certification (Must be active at start)
