Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Supervise and assist in the performance of maintenance and preventive maintenance of fire alarms CCTV electronic security PA and intercom systems and equipment.
Read blueprints and wiring diagrams and make material requests and take-offs.
Requisition materials and parts as needed to maintain efficiency in the electronic specialty.
Ensure completion of installation/repairs.
Makeemergency repairs to electronic systems and equipment.
Perform on the job training of inmates.
Participate in on-call rotation.
May require overtime work.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources.)

A high school diploma and 5 years experience in the construction or repair of institutional electrical systems.
