About the Role

As the Specialist Project Manager you will provide support to a team focussed on safe/efficient delivery of projects through their lifecycle in line with BHP standards and requirements across technology finance Health and Safety at Olympic Dam.

Your responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage project performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards requirements budget and scope.
  • Develop integrated project deliverables and integrate work across the portfolio through interfacing with stakeholders and managing the successful transition of project/phase closure.
  • Develop predict/forecast and benchmark project costs and estimates.
  • Explore and reassess the best fit solutions by taking ownership of project decisions and outcomes and monitor/manage impacts to value across the project lifecycle (e.g. social environmental commercial).
  • Develop safe project delivery and contractor performance strategies.
  • Manage contract execution to maximise operational and financial performance and mitigate exposure and risk.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise value and manage associated risks to benefits realisation.
  • Identifies engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritises work effort and resources accordingly.

About You

  • Good understanding and experience in technology Project management in one or multiple of the following discliplines: Software applications Hosting infrastructure Mining systems Fleet systems Industrial communications
  • Good relationship building skills and ability to negotiate/influence Stakeholders.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport persuades others and gains understanding;
  • Good experience in developing and managing budgets and schedules to low complexity projects under $2m spend.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Agile & waterfall
  • PMBOK certification or other project management certification is desirable but not essential
