The Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department (RWRD) is recruiting for an Asset Control Specialist in the Treatment Division. This position is responsible for tracking verifying and documenting the treatment divisions assets to ensure efficiency security and compliance. As an Asset Control Specialist you will conduct physical audits and inventories of treatment assets update and maintain asset records and ensure proper tagging of equipment. Your responsibilities include collecting detailed asset information on new rotating and decommissioned assets including product specifications and manuals for field-deployed infrastructure and industrial equipment. Additionally you will generate and update asset data within the Maximo CMMS system applying identification tags to newly received assets.

Essential Functions:

  • Collects compiles and analyzes pertinent information on new rotating and dispositioned assets;

  • Establishes key metrics using databases and various software;

  • Collects compiles analyzes interprets and disseminates data to create equipment asset tags;

  • Communicates asset needs with all crafts and trades when asset information is needed;

  • Assists with tracking equipment parts equipment history and the cost of maintaining wastewater treatment equipment when needed;

  • Assists with tracking asset age and compares to the useful life forecast;

  • Assists as needed to track asset movement within the system; and keeps asset inventory list current;

  • Assists as needed to complete asset disposal forms as assets are retired and removed from service;

  • Participates in the inspection and information gathering of all incoming shipments to the warehouse;

  • Ensures accuracy of shipments and certifies assets are tagged making proper entries on inventory control documents or computerized software;

  • Operates a computerized inventory system and ensures accuracy of entries;

  • Conducts periodic physical asset inventory;

  • Prepares and maintains daily monthly and annual reports as needed;

  • Coordinates and works with department managers to ensure efficient operation of the asset management program;

  • Coordinates property disposition and instructs personnel in inventory control procedures;

  • Consistently administers and enforces rules regulations and department procedures.


Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree AND one year of experience in asset tagging operations or a closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

OR:

Three years of experience in asset tagging in an industrial mining or utility environment.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):

  • Experience in asset tracking systems to monitor relevant information about an organizations assets.

  • Minimum two (2) years experience compiling data and entering into computerized systems.

  • Experience performing physical audits to ensure the accuracy of the asset inventory.

  • Experience in inventory management and control systems for an industrial environment.

Selection Procedure:
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.

Licenses and Certificates:Valid driver license is required at time of application.ValidAZdriver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicants suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services review and approval of the candidates driving record.

Special Notice: The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history education and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. Some positions may require satisfactory completion of a personal background investigation by the court or law enforcement agencies due to the need for access to County Attorney and Court facilities records and communication systems.

Physical/Sensory Requirements: All positions require sufficient body flexibility mobility stamina and balance to allow for standing walking sitting grasping and manipulation of objects frequent bending stooping reaching climbing stairs and ladders. All positions require regular or occasional crawling kneeling squatting lifting/carrying objects up to fifty pounds pushing and pulling of objects up to seventy-five pounds and the ability to properly don and doff fall protection to enter and work in confined spaces. Essential to this position is corrected or sufficient vision; the ability to see read and interpret written information manuals gauges etc. including distinguishing various colors. Also essential to this position is corrected or sufficient hearing; the ability to hear and comprehend voice communications in-person over a radio and phone and to hear operating equipment.

Working Conditions: All positions require the operation of machinery powered industrial equipment and motor vehicles. All positions require outdoor work including during inclement and hot weather and exposure to waterborne pathogens/agents hazardous materials and gases water hazards and wet/slippery surfaces odors fumes humidity dirt dust traffic hazards venomous pests uneven surfaces and electric arc flash potential.
