Job Title: Central Sterile Technician (CST)
Location: Bronxville NY 10708
Schedule: Day/Evening/Nights
Job Overview:
The Central Sterile Technician (CST) is responsible for the decontamination sterilization assembly and distribution of surgical instruments and medical devices in a hospital setting. The role supports the Perioperative Department by ensuring all instruments meet sterilization and safety standards and are available for patient care. This is a critical contract role with an urgent start date.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Decontamination & Sterilization: Clean disinfect and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to hospital protocols.
- Instrument Assembly: Inspect assemble and package surgical instruments and trays for upcoming procedures.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of sterile supplies monitor stock levels and ensure timely restocking.
- Quality Assurance: Verify the proper functioning of sterilization equipment and ensure all instruments meet JC and hospital standards.
- Distribution: Deliver sterile instruments and equipment to operating rooms and other departments as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles instrument usage and quality checks.
- Compliance: Adhere to hospital departmental and national CS/SPD standards and safety guidelines.
- Communication: Work effectively with OR staff nurses and other healthcare professionals to support surgical procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Previous Central Sterile/SPD experience (required)
- National CS/SPD Certification (required)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Additional Notes:
- Urgent start required on 12/29/2025; delayed starts are not permitted
- No RTO (Return-to-Office) during the contract period
