QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate has experience coaching at the high school or college level and can design and run effective offensive schemes. The role requires solid knowledge of game rules offensive strategy analytics and new technologies as well as the ability to build positive relationships with players families and staff. Candidates should be able to teach fundamentals motivate student-athletes and support their academic progress.
REPORTS TO: Head Football Coach/Athletic Director/Principal
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Assistant Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator supports the vision and standards of the high school football program by designing and leading an effective innovative offensive system. The role focuses on student-athlete development strategic planning practice design game-day play-calling and fostering a positive team culture. The coach collaborates with the Head Coach to ensure alignment of philosophy expectations and program goals. The position requires modeling integrity building strong relationships with students and maintaining a student-centered approach that prioritizes learning safety and character.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and leads the offensive system in alignment with the Head Coachs vision.
Develops practice plans situational packages and opponent-based adjustments.
Calls offensive plays on game days and collaborates with staff on real-time decisions.
Provides individualized coaching focused on technique effort and growth.
Guides and supports offensive position coaches to ensure clarity and consistency.
Uses film study to teach concepts correct technique and reinforce expectations.
Builds positive relationships that support player well-being and academic accountability.
Models strong sportsmanship professionalism and character for student-athletes.
Promotes a team culture built on discipline teamwork and steady improvement.
Supports off-season strength and conditioning planning.
Collaborates with the Head Coach on staffing program structure and long-term needs.
Assists with logistics such as equipment travel and communication.
Ensures compliance with district state and SCHSL rules and expectations.
Maintains safe practice environments aligned with best practices and guidelines.
Communicates concerns promptly and engages families respectfully.
Supports outreach to feeder programs families and community partners.
Assists with camps clinics and student-athlete recruitment within district guidelines.
Represents the program positively in all interactions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position primarily involves duties in outdoor and athletic settings including practices and meets with occasional indoor administrative responsibilities. The role requires sustained physical activity the ability to supervise student-athletes in varied weather conditions and the capacity to respond quickly in active environments. While moderate physical demands are expectedsuch as lifting and moving equipment up to 25 poundsthe focus is on mobility and engagement during training and competitions. Some local travel for events is required; occasional overnight travel is likely. The role also includes standard administrative tasks involving basic office equipment.
