As our Mechanical/Electrical Expert you will own the design maturity of our next-generation EV charging reference design. Your work forms the backbone of how EcoG customers bring reliable scalable and serviceable charging systems to market. This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence manufacturability and customer value creation.
You will lead the mechanical and electrical aspects of the reference design across the full product lifecycle. Your focus: functional accuracy robustness performance and optimization for production (Design for Manufacturing/DFM) and field service (Design for Service/DFS). You will collaborate closely with product electronics software and customer teams.
Lead the mechanical and electrical design of EV charging systems with strong ownership of DFM and DFS
Develop robust reliable and cost-efficient designs aligned with IEC 61851-23 UL 2231-1/-2 and comparable standards
Drive design reviews structured risk assessments and FMEAs to identify and mitigate potential issues
Create and maintain detailed 2D/3D CAD models schematics BOMs and technical documentation
Partner with EcoG customers to support design integration manufacturing readiness and a smooth prototype-to-production transition
Collaborate with customer field service teams to integrate real-world feedback into design improvements that reduce maintenance time and improve serviceability
Keep current with industry developments materials and best practices across EV charging and power electronics
7 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering with clear exposure to product design and development
Demonstrated mastery of DFM and DFS. You bring concrete examples of optimizing products for mass production and field maintenance
Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals (power electronics circuit design thermal management). High-voltage/high-current system experience is an advantage
Hands-on experience with prototyping testing validation and iterative refinement of electromechanical systems
Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes both automated and traditional
Skilled in CAD design technical documentation and structured analysis (FMEA tolerance analysis etc.)
Prior experience in EV charging power electronics or comparable industries is highly preferred
Degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
And beyond your expertise this is how you work:
You think in systems and understand the downstream impact of design choices on manufacturing cost and serviceability
You communicate clearly and collaborate well across functions from electronics and software to product manufacturing and customer teams
You enjoy solving complex engineering problems with both hands-on work and structured thinking
You bring a pragmatic mindset: build early test often learn fast
You can move between precision and speed depending on the stage of the design
You take ownership and deliver reliably even in a fast-moving environment
Shape a reference design that will influence the next generation of global EV charging products
Work at the intersection of hardware engineering customer impact and design maturity
Collaborate with an international team of highly skilled engineers
Build products used by customers around the world
Drive innovation in a growing industry with real relevance for sustainability and energy transition
Join a company where you can see your impact: I built this is something you will say often
