About the Role
We are seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support safe operations across our refinery and regional pipeline/terminal facilities. This role is responsible for conducting audits leading safety training investigating incidents and ensuring compliance with OSHA FMCSA PHMSA and other regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience strong communication skills and the ability to partner with operations and contractors to drive a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety audits of buildings facilities tools and equipment.
- Identify training requirements and provide safety instruction tailored to work processes.
- Investigate accidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Maintain knowledge of federal state and local safety regulations.
- Support refinery and field operations by participating in safety meetings audits and trainings.
- Issue permits (Safe Work Hot Work Confined Space Entry) and facilitate pre-job safety reviews.
- Maintain and report on safety KPIs leading/lagging indicators and compliance documentation.
- Provide safety oversight for contractors and regional projects.
- Respond to incidents spills and emergency events supporting response operations as Safety Officer.
- Partner with management on safety program documentation policy development and EHS initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (required) relevant field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of health & safety experience in industrial refinery or related environments.
- Valid drivers license with satisfactory record.
- HAZWOPER 40-hr certification required.
