Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager (Transportation)
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager to lead transportation projects for cities and counties specializing in roadway improvements for public agencies and private developments. Projects include designing new roads roadway widening active transportation improvements complete streets roundabouts parking lots freeway interchanges and minor drainage facilities. Project construction costs range from $500000 to $30 million. This role includes direct client interaction project management responsibilities proposal preparation and business development.
Base Salary Range: $123300 - $155000
Hybrid: 1 day in office 4 days remote
Responsibilities:
- Manage the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects
- Coordinate major projects through design completion with creativity foresight and technical judgment
- Ensure engineering services meet professional standards client requirements budget control scheduling cost engineering and quality control
- Interact with clients and participate in technical project design meetings
- Lead and supervise the design team including training and mentoring junior staff
- Coordinate with other design disciplines (structures hydraulics stormwater traffic electrical utilities right of way environmental)
- Prepare roadway designs including planning documents and PS&E
- Coordinate workload and schedule throughout the entire project development
- Ensure project documents are completed on schedule and within budget
- Perform quality assurance checks for projects
Requirements:
- 8 years of experience
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Registered California Civil Engineer (P.E.)
- Experience with Caltrans and/or FHWA projects
- Strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience in urban and rural roadway design intersection design site planning concept alignments geometrical layouts and roadway drainage
- Knowledge of Caltrans Highway Design Manual AASHTO Highway Design Guide California MUTCD Greenbook/APWA standards
