Duties include:
- Foster a high-performance culture recognising and rewarding strong contributions and ensure team delivers against targets addressing underperformance promptly and constructively.
- Lead on rent setting annual rent review service charge accounting and annual budget setting for rental and service charge income (including provisions and sinking funds).
- Ensure robust financial controls and reconciliations are in place with all discrepancies investigated and resolved within agreed timescales.
- Provide expert advice and challenge senior management ensuring decisions are evidence-based and aligned with financial objectives.
- Lead internal and external audit activities ensuring recommendations are implemented. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g. Regulator of Social Housing Rent Standard).
- Proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Identify and deliver service improvement projects with clear objectives milestones and success measures.
- Report regularly on progress against improvement plans holding self and others accountable for delivery.
- Support a culture of innovation encouraging the team to suggest and implement new ideas.
- Use performance data to drive accountability and continuous improvement across the team.
Requirements- Substantial experience managing a rent and service charge team in the social housing sector.
- Extensive knowledge of service charge setting in social housing and leasehold environments.
- Substantial experience managing month-end processes (accruals budget monitoring forecasting).
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets.
- Right to Work in the UK - visa sponsorship is not available.
- A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process -Criminal Conviction Checks
