As the Nurse Unit Manager you will be responsible for the provision of leadership and direction to ensure the development and maintenance of a high performing evidence based safe and effective Medical and Radiation Oncology Service. The Nurse Unit Manager will operationalise strategic plans and department direction within Medical Oncology Ward this includes providing operational input into the development of these plans.
Additionally the Nurse Unit Manager is accountable for the efficient and effective management of the Medical Oncology Ward patient flow though the unit and the integration of nursing practices within Calvary Mater Newcastle.

Positions available: Permanent Full-time

Salary Classification: Nursing Unit Manager Level 2

Remuneration: $69.15 per hour super annual leave loading

INCENTIVE: UP TO $2000 RELOCATION INCENTIVE BY NEGOTIATION

Selection criteria:

Essential:

  • Nursing Unit Management or In-Charge experience in an acute/subacute facility and or ambulatory setting and ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
  • Relevant postgraduate management qualifications or experience or working towards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead develop and manage a team in a multidisciplinary environment with a focus on optimising patient flow.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial and human resources.
  • Commitment to improving health care through quality improvement and implementation of evidenced based care.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated cancer care experience.

Pre-employment conditions:

  • Be an Australian citizen permanent resident or hold a visa with unlimited rights to work in Australia.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment checks. Checks include: reference checks work rights criminal history check and WWCC.
  • Provide evidence of immunisation as required for the role.
