Job Summary:The Computer Science Researcher I PT contributes to the planning and design of computer research and creative projects on a part-time basis. Performs supporting research and creative activities such as data analysis monitoring outcomes performing lab maintenance and/or performing experiments and creating creative projects. May assist in short- and long-term planning and project goals. May assist with research and creative proposals and dissemination of project findings.

Additional Department Summary:Works under the direction of Dr. Alice Smith to formulate and conduct experiments in computational intelligence methods. Prepares the developed software for public dissemination. Writes and presents scholarly papers at conferences.

Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and two (2) years of computer or closely related research experience; OR masters degree or higher and some computer or closely related research experience.

Skills and Knowledge:Desired experience with machine learning. Superior communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree and training in engineering or computer science with excellent coding skills and strong knowledge of probability and statistics and optimization methods. Experience in scholarly writing and presentations.
