Cybersecurity Systems Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Cybersecurity Systems Analyst within the Information Technology Department. The Cybersecurity Systems Analyst is responsible for assisting in the protection of Liberty Countys information systems networks and data. This position provides hands-on support in monitoring detecting and responding to cybersecurity threats while helping implement county-wide security policies and practices. The role is designed for candidates beginning their careers in cybersecurity offering valuable training and mentorship.

MAJOR DUTIES

1. Monitor county networks servers and endpoints for suspicious activity.
2. Assist in responding to alerts investigating potential threats and documenting incidents.
3. Support the deployment and maintenance of firewalls antivirus software and intrusion detection systems.
4. Perform routine vulnerability scans and assist with patch management.
5. Help develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and compliance with state/federal regulations.
6. Provide basic guidance to county employees on safe computing practices.
7. Maintain accurate records of incidents system changes and security updates.
8. Prepare reports for supervisors on security status and emerging risks.
9. Deploys endpoint security software to workstations and servers.
10. Maintains and monitors physical security access control and video surveillance systems.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

1. Basic understanding of networking operating systems and cybersecurity concepts.
2. Familiarity with tools such as antivirus software firewalls and vulnerability scanners.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
4. Practical communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
5. Knowledge of communications systems including CAD system technologies.
6. Knowledge of mobile device security systems device configuration and backup methods.
7. Knowledge of network routing and switching.
8. Knowledge of network topology.
9. Knowledge of spam and content filtering.
10. Skill in troubleshooting and problem solving.
11. Skill in organizing and prioritizing projects.
12. Skill in oral and written communication.
13. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Office 365 security features or cloud environments.
14. Knowledge of incident response frameworks and cybersecurity best practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting standing walking or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects climbs ladders uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity distinguishes between shades of color and utilizes the sense of smell.
• The work is typically performed in an office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in a course of study related to the occupational field preferred.
• CompTIA Security Network or equivalent entry-level certification preferred.
• More than two (2) years of related experience required.
• Possession of a valid Georgia Class C drivers license and acceptable driving record.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The minimum annual compensation range for this position is $55883. The typical work schedule is 8AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday. The I.T. Department is located in Hinesville Georgia.
