Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic motivated individual who has a flexible attitude to lead on our translation service within the Fund.

The Fund is a truly bilingual organisation. Our principle is to treat the Welsh and English languages equally by offering a bilingual service to our customers and grant holders on a day-to-day basis.

You will workindependentlyalongsidenumerousteams to ensure an effective andaccuratetranslation service for the whole will ensure that all our online and off-line materials including new web pagespublicationsand corporate initiatives are translatedin accordance withagreed deadlines.

You will work closely with our Welsh Language Officer toensure that the Fund fulfills its statutory legal requirements tocomply withthe Welsh Language Standards under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.

The ability to speak and write in Welsh fluently and confidently is essential for this post.

Essential criteria

  • A degree in Welsh or adegreecompletedthrough the medium of Welsh .
  • Experience of working as a translator working accurately and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Fluency inoraland written Welsh.
  • Ability toproof-read documents to a high standard of accuracy inboth Welsh and English

Desirable criteria

  • Ability to co-ordinate systems and processes and develop effective working relationships to enable collaboration across theFund.
  • A strong understanding of the importance ofa bilingualbrand across the communications mix.
  • Membership of the Association of Welsh Translatorsand Interpretersor a willingness to work towards this aim.
  • Awareness of the background andobjectivesof the current Welsh language requirements in terms of Legislation Frameworks and Standards
