Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in a Long Term Care facility provides skilled nursing care case management and may provide hospice care to individuals facing advancing age frailty and serious illness. The RN will perform patient assessments administer medications develop treatment plans and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
Location:Valdez Alaska United States
Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in a Long Term Care setting.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor their condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Develop and implement patient care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians therapists and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient information accurately and timely in Epic.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Respond to patient needs and emergencies.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of Long Term Care experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience with Epic charting system.
Special Considerations:

- Must be willing to work holidays.
- Little to no RTO is allowed.
- Must be willing to work either day or night shifts based on facility needs.
- Traveler can be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks.
- Housing and a rental car/vehicle will be provided by the facility.
- Pets are not allowed in provided housing.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 hour variable shifts.
- Shifts will be either days or nights dependent on facility needs at the time of the start date.
- Guaranteed 84 hours per 2 weeks.
