About this Position
The HVAC I Technician is responsible for analyzing maintaining mechanical electrical thermodynamic and gas-fired systems across domestic commercial and athletic facilities. This role serves as a primary resource for HVAC-R systems ensuring reliable operation of refrigeration steam distribution and condensation pumping systems. The technician performs preventative maintenance log activity and parts in the maintenance tracking system.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
HVAC I - two years prior successful work experience In building trades or completion of post-secondary education in Mechanical HVAC
HVAC II - three years prior successful work experience in HVAC; or completion of post-secondary education in Mechanical HVAC plus one year experience
Lead HVAC - four years prior successful work experience in HVAC; or completion of post-secondary education in Mechanical HVAC plus two years experience
Experience in Electrical controls troubleshooting using manufacturers schematics.
- Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:
Must obtain an EPA Universal Technician Certification card within one year of hire.
Have and maintain after hire a valid drivers license. Certified EPA Refrigeration Usage Card within a year of hire
- Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Controls motors and electrical schematic reading.
Refrigeration repairs.
Steam/condensate systems.
Knowledge of refrigerants and use of refrigerant regulations. Knowledge of HVAC-R systems.
Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
