Responsible for direct supervision of Unit Forensic Security Assistants who provide unlicensed nursing care to mentally ill adult patients including issuing corrective and/or disciplinary action to subordinate staff. Directly supervised by Registered Nurse Managers. Employees are subject to the volatility of psychiatric forensic patients. Work requires physical agility to respond to a variety of nursing and safety related situations. This employee will be a role model promoting a professional atmosphere through courteous communication cooperation and respect for patients visitors and staff.
Responsible for overseeing implementation and maintenance of the patient aggression prevention program in a forensic hospital setting. This position implements policy procedure and evidence-based best practices in conjunction with patient treatment plans to create a safe and therapeutic environment for staff and patients. Due to these expectations the position requires strong knowledge skills and abilities related to identifying risk of patient aggression preventative/pre-emptive intervention crisis response and leadership to implement a team approach for aggression prevention for patients.

Education
Completion of 21 semester college credits.
Experience
Three years of experience equivalent to a Forensic Security Assistant including one year equivalent to the Forensic Security Assistant E10.
One year of experience in the supervision of security staff in a law enforcement correctional or mental health setting may be substituted for the required experience.
