Your role & work environment

As TM Tribe Lead you will set the Standard on the what and the how on the TM process in terms of tooling and/or workplace instructions towards the Retail and Wholesale countries including the 1000 FTE executing the TM process in the ING Hubs.

The purpose of the job is to (re)define a risk based approach towards FEC risks in transactions (payments and specialised products) of customers together with Compliance colleagues and validated by the Global KYC Committee and translate this into effective and efficient processes for alert generation and handling that minimised false positives maximises detection of true positives and minimizes the impact on the customer experience.

The Tribe lead defines the standard on what needs to be done in the different TM processes and in line with DNBs and other regulators order to do so we are opening our processes to more Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning and Gen AI solutions. The Tribe Lead is the primary responsible in the first line for the TM processes and this as well as for ING Global as well as the ING DBNL organisation.

The TM tribe is organised in four different Product Areas: 1) Rule-based TM 2) Network analysis and 3) Risk Design & Optimization and 4) Maximize digitization in TM.

In that perspective:

  • The Tribe Lead is responsible for overseeing four Product Areas within the TM Tribe: Rule-based TM Network Analysis Risk Design & Optimization and Maximizing Digitization in TM.
  • Drives the implementation of standardized tooling and WPI to harmonize TM processes across all Retail and Wholesale countries and ING Hubs.
  • Champions the integration of Analytical Solutions including Machine Learning and Generative AI to enhance efficiency reduce false positives and improve the overall effectiveness of the TM process.
  • Acts as the primary point of accountability for the first line TM processes globally in alignment with both ING Global and ING DBNL organizational objectives.
  • Collaborates closely with technology counterparts to ensure seamless translation of operational requirements into practical and innovative TM solutions.

The geographical scope is worldwide as the TM area is serving all Retail and Wholesale countries the as well as the ING Hubs that are executing the TM processes.

As a TM Tribe lead you report to Global head of Delivery data AI and Transformation.

Your Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes the strategic vision for the TM Tribe ensuring alignment with INGs global objectives and business priorities.
  • Leads business planning activities setting clear goals and driving implementation of standardized tooling and processes across all Retail and Wholesale markets.
  • Acts as the primary accountable leader for first line TM processes globally overseeing operational excellence and the delivery of effective TM solutions.
  • Drives the integration and implementation of advanced analytics Machine Learning and Generative AI to enhance TM process efficiency and reduce false positives.
  • Provides clear leadership and direction to four Product Areas fostering collaboration and innovation within the team.
  • Manages develops and motivates team members serving as a behavioural role model focused on delivery and content.
  • Ensures seamless stakeholder management by collaborating with technology operations and global partners to translate requirements into practical solutions.
  • Drives organizational alignment and harmonization of TM processes worldwide supporting INGs transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with both Retail and WB colleagues to ensure in light with financials and QBR demand drive prioritization for key items. At the same time leveraging on the global view identify opportunities that can we embedded across business lines.
  • Ensure one global roadmap approved by relevant stakeholders mobilizing all resources and enablers units i.e. Tech INGA Services are fully on board. There should be no side steering in countries & Hubs unless initiatives substantiated by a local regulatory demand.
  • Ensure one global roadmap is agreed signed off by all stakeholders timely within Q3 of every year including DP handshake for the following year. Improve DP quality for Tribe working closely with Finance and subsequent info in SNOW and/or Azure.
  • Build strong partnership and collaboration model with RB WB (recently live on global tool) and others e.g. BB in the future driving their needs and commitments.
  • Given the regulatory & compliancy focus towards AI transformation drive and take ownership of defining business cases for POC/MVP including ROI (return of investment). In general bring documentation hygiene for all changes i.e. BRD (business requirements document) FRD (functional requirements document) project plan UAT/SIT testing Operational Readiness etc.
  • Importance of efficiency and CX in FCFP has further increased in 2025. Business cases are not standardized though and benefits realisation is hard to manage. So for all initiatives leading to efficiencies in terms of automating/STP manual processes you are responsible to ensure the benefits are in-line with business case ROI. Therefore work closely with the Benefits Management lead to define strategy/metrics and reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis ensuring transparency. You are responsible to materialize the saving targets as a KPI.
  • For all AI transformation initiatives you act as model owner and/or delegate and work closely with the full model life cycle i.e. model development model implementation & model validation team.
  • Responsible for leading CAS/audit regulatory reviews for your department ensuring no exception & zero tolerance missing timelines including drafting action plans.

We are looking for

A leader who will act as a behavioral role model with focus on delivery and content displaying the following behaviors and skills

  • Masters Degree or equivalent level
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading large-scale change initiatives.
  • 10 years experience in running large international functions with strong knowledge in KYC and preferably in Transaction Monitoring (TM).
  • Background in running or contributing to analytics projects is considered an asset.
  • Excellent leadership skills serving as a role model with a strong emphasis on results and substance.
  • Proven track record in communication and senior stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technology operations and international teams.
  • Skilled in driving organizational alignment and harmonizing processes on a global level.
  • A proven ability to inspire develop and encourage innovation within teams.
  • Experience with the integration and implementation of advanced analytics machine learning and generative AI within business processes is a plus.
