We are hiring Resident Medical Officer (RMO) a for a Hospital in Galway Ireland.
This is a 2-year fixed-term contract for 39 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
Provide medical care to all patients requiring clinical intervention.
Perform duties under the supervision of the responsible Consultant and report to both the Consultant and Hospital Management.
Review post-call medical patients routinely and as requested by the admitting Consultant or nursing staff.
Document all patient encounters clearly contemporaneously and sign with your Medical Council registration number.
Take comprehensive handover from the previous shifts Registrar to ensure continuity of care.
Carry out clinical procedures based on patient needs and as directed by the relevant Consultant.
Prescribe medications under Consultant guidance and dispense out-of-hours medications when required following hospital policies.
Ensure accurate documentation of all medications including IV fluids in the patients medical records and prescription charts.
Requirements
Full registration with the Medical Council of Ireland.
MRCPI qualified or currently in the process of qualification.
Specific interest in Geriatric or Rehabilitation Medicine.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care.
Personally and professionally accountable for patient care.
Excellent interpersonal leadership and communication skills.
Flexible approach to work patterns including 812 hour shifts up to 39 hours per week.
Strong ability to document accurately with excellent attention to detail.
Completion of satisfactory postgraduate training and experience in the medical profession.
Membership of the College of Physicians is desirable.
