Job Summary
Summary
The Employee Assistance Program(EAP) Counselor supports the mission of the EAP and provides employee assistance services to staff employees and their immediate family members across Mass General Brigham as well as to employees of all affiliated client companies that have arranged for EAP services. These services include clinical assessment short-term counseling and referral establishment of community linkages and a provider network case monitoring and follow-up.
Hybrid Schedule: This position will require at least 2 days onsite at Brigham and Womens Hospital and/or Mass General Hospital
Essential Functions
-Offers confidential behavioral health assessments short-term counseling crisis intervention referrals and follow-up support to employees and their household members.
-Adheres to standard procedures ensuring confidentiality ethical conduct and timely documentation for program evaluation.
-Acts as a liaison between clients and supervisors with permission and consults with managers and HR on employee or workgroup issues.
-Works closely with Occupational Health Employee Relations and HR to address employee concerns and coordinate care.
-Maintains and updates a network of internal and external referral resources to ensure high-quality support for clients.
-Delivers orientations well-being trainings and workshops to promote EAP services and workplace mental health.
-Participates in EAP organizations and ongoing training to stay current with best practices and regulations.
Education
- Masters Degree Social Work required
- Masters Degree Psychology required
- Masters Degree Health & Human Services required
Licenses and Credentials
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker LCSW - State License
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor LMHC - State License
Experience
- Clinical training and experience in chemical dependency 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- - Proficient in crisis intervention techniques to support individuals in acute distress.
- - Knowledgeable in conducting clinical assessments including substance use evaluations and appropriate interventions.
- - Experienced in providing grief counseling to individuals and families.
- - Knowledgeable in motivational interviewing to encourage behavioral change.
- - Competent in client assessment referral processes and follow-up care coordination.
- - Familiar with the use of standardized clinical measurement tools (e.g. PHQ).
- - Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- - Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining strict confidentiality.
