Job Summary
North Haven High School is seeking a Temporary Assistant Coach for its Fencing Team. The responsibilities for this job include but are not limited to:
- Work and communicate with the North Haven Athletic Department including the athletic director and administrative assistant in all necessary capacities
- Supervise student-athletes at all times including all practices and games
- Supervise student-athletes during transportation to and from away games
- Assist head coach in scheduling organizing preparing and implementing practice sessions on a regular basis to develop the student-athletes greatest potential
- Demonstrate positive characteristics and serve as a role model for student-athletes
- Assume all duties assigned by head coach
- Assist head coach in maintaining accurate inventory/record of equipment and uniforms and assist in submitting an itemized report at the end of each season to the athletic director
- Assist head coach in being responsible for constant care of equipment and facilities
- Assist head coach in communicating effectively with parents as it relates to student-athletes which includes being a part of the preseason meeting
The successful candidate must possess or be working towards a Connecticut Coaches Certification (must be in place before the season begins); be CPR AED and First Aid certified before the first practice; have previous coaching and/or playing experience with the sport. Compensation will follow North Havens coachs stipend scale based upon the tempoary nature of this position.
