The HVAC Technician II operates maintains and performs repairs on assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls chilled water systems chillers boilers and various other mechanical electrical and building systems in such manner as to ensure optimal client relations.
JOB OBJECTIVE
The HVAC Technician II is responsible for ensuring that the Heating Venting and Air Conditioning systems of a commercial multi-floor building are maintained and operating in optimum condition. This role involves working directly with clients engineering leadership and vendors to deliver top-tier asset management and ensure client satisfaction through strong communication administrative and organizational skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience and/or trade school training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical school graduate in HVAC or Mechanical Technology preferred.
Universal CFC and EPA certifications required.
Proficient in all general HVAC concepts.
Proficient in HVAC maintenance
Knowledgeable of the equipment tools and materials used in HVAC services and building maintenance.
Prior experience in troubleshooting with excellence
May require shift work overtime and/or on call duties. Stooping standing climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pump tools ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead others
Able to communicate verbally and in writing
Knowledge of CMMS software processes and systems.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation.
Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams blueprints and other technical documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Install/maintain HVAC systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC systems
Perform rounds reactive preventative and repair maintenance tasks
Assist with energy conservation strategy
Ensure adherence to all safety standards as identified by engineering leadership and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
Learn understand and comply with fire safety and other emergency practices
Keep simple written records of activities performed and complete basic reports
Maintain good working relations with other staff and client contacts and employees
Work in confined areas
Work independently and effectively with minimal supervision while under pressure and within strict time constraints.
Work assigned shifts and overtime as needed
Return all work areas to a clean neat orderly and safe condition
Inform supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafe
