Wage/Hour Status:Non-Exempt
Pay Grade:A05 8HR
Duty Days: 261 Days
Qualifications:
Technical school hours (preferred); college hours high school diploma or GED (required)
Texas Operators License
Knowledge and skill required to operate equipment and tools associated with maintenance
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to comprehend written and verbal English
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) license
Primary Purpose:
Work and assist senior technicians maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence while providing proper preventative maintenance so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist technicians in repairs and/or new installation of equipment as requested on approved work order.
- Understand and apply HVAC and refrigeration principals and their application to the maintenance repair and installation of HVAC and refrigeration equipment systems and devices.
- Ability to use HVAC equipment in checking testing troubleshooting and analyzing HVAC equipment and systems.
- Basic understanding of blueprints technical manuals charts and schematics.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on completed assignments.
- Practice all safety regulations related to trade.
- Report all hazardous situations to a supervisor.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies.
- Assist Technician to examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis for preventive maintenance.
- May be required to work occasional overtime or alternate shift.
- Attend CEU training as required for advancement of skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Equipment Used:
Computer meters gauges welding equipment ladders hoists power and hand tools pipe bender propane torch light truck or van aerial lifts and ability to pull trailers
Working Conditions:
Continual walking standing climbing stooping bending kneeling reaching and heavy lifting and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions both outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent district wide travel.
