In this role the teacher will support students with diverse learning needs who struggle with emotional dysregulation and provide educational support based on each students Individualized Education Plan. This role involves managerial experience of Behavior Technicians to create an inclusive supportive learning environment that fosters academic social and emotional teacher will utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and adaptive materials to help students meet their goals while maintaining a safe positive and engaging classroom individual programmatic needs for each student utilizing criteria referenced assessment as a baseline in all developmental areas; receptive and expressive language fine and gross motor cognitive self-help person/social vocational interests and individual programs in all areas for each student utilizing a behavioral approach with a data collection system. These programs should be designed to teach all the life skills functional skills concepts actions and responses required for adaptive performance in all the post-school environments to which the student will be a process whereby all skills acquired in a structured behavioral classroom approach will be integrated and generalized into other activities experiences and environments so that they are data update and monitor each students program to insure the maximum rate of skill acquisition as well as maintenance of experience working with students in special education settingsExperience creating and writing IEP goalsClassroom managementFacilitating testing and assessmentsKnowledge of childcare practices and child developmentExperience in literacy education and supporting students with speech therapy needsStrong communication collaboration organizational and time management skillsQualificationsR.I. Certification as requiredBachelors in Special Education or related fieldMasters in Special Education (area of concentration) preferredAt least 1 year experience working in a Special Education Teacher role
