Are you passionate about supporting students and building strong relationships with stakeholders The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland is seeking a Practicum Placement Coordinator to join our dynamic this pivotal role you will coordinate the placement progress and outcomes of practical work (practicum internship etc.) to ensure students meet the requirements of their professional programmes and progress toward graduation.
You will provide efficient and professional administrative support for the practicum placement component maintain strong relationships with external placement providers and contribute to continuous service delivery improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administer student clinical placements practicums internships and related practical work across multiple disciplines and sites.
- Liaise with Schools Health NZ Te Whatu Ora and community partners to coordinate teaching sessions placement activities and orientation events.
- Maintain accurate records of placement allocations outcomes and student progression.
- Ensure timely collection of provider verification for placement completion and update student records.
- Organise and support assessments examinations and course-related administrative processes.
- Advise students on practical work requirements and expectations.
- Support student pastoral care and wellbeing in line with the NZQA Pastoral Care Code of Practice and University guidelines.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with external placement providers and internal academic and service staff.
- Support the development of services and improvement to systems ensuring consistent placement processes.
- Actively promote the Universitys commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity outcomes for staff and students.
This role is fulltime (37.5h per week) fixed term (until 11 September 2026).
The salary range for this position is $63000 - $77000 depending on skills and experience.

Essential:
- Tertiary qualification or relevant experience.
- Experience working in an administrative role with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in managing tasks and information.
- Working knowledge of compliance and quality assurance frameworks in tertiary or clinical education settings.
- Competency with digital systems for data management and placement coordination.
Preferred:
- Experience with compliance or regulatory frameworks related to clinical placements.
- Familiarity with the NZQA Pastoral Care Code and health and safety standards.
- Experience working in a tertiary environment.
- Understanding of student services and university-related information systems.
