GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


Are you detail-oriented and ready to make an impact Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is looking for a motivated Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team.

This position will be responsible for reviewing and approving expenditures reconciling financial records across systems and will serve as the fiscal liaison for our quality assurance and support team. Youll also oversee P-Card processing and daily payment approvals and provide guidance and training to accounting staff while troubleshooting system addition youll assist with special projects data analysis and research that supports leadership and drives decision-making ensuring adherence to fiscal policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.

  • Apply your knowledge of state and federal accounting principles and grant rules to support accurate and compliant financial operations.
  • Review and approve expenditures in WOLFS ensuring spending is accurate timely and allowable.
  • Train new and existing fiscal staff and coordinate the payment entry process performed by accountants.
  • Serve as the post-audit lead verifying that transactions meet budget rules and are backed by proper documentation.
  • Reconcile records between WOLFS and the Client Management System (CMS) to ensure payments obligations and codes are correct.
  • Perform special requests prepare reports and complete assignments with direct accountability to the Quality Assurance Analyst.
  • Oversee P-Card processing and daily payment approvals assisting accountants as needed.
  • Share your expertise by troubleshooting issues in WOLFS and CMS and provide training to team members. Support leadership with special projects research and data analysis that drive decision-making.

Qualifications


KNOWLEDGE:



  • Knowledge of federal regulations related to grants/programs at the state and federal levels.
  • Knowledge of the maintenance of accounts including fund accounts and in balancing the accounts to the different systems involved.
  • Knowledge of computer-based applications including word processing spreadsheets and databases.
  • Knowledge of general accounting and fiscal management principles.
  • Knowledge of procedures for fiscal control and proper documentation.
  • Skills in effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of the Departments Fiscal team.
  • Ability to make decisions using information from different sources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accountant
OR
Education:
Bachelors Degree (typically in Finance)

Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accountant
