Job Description Summary:

The Sr. Perioperative Cost Specialist will review and order equipment and supplies in the Perioperative and specialty areas. Maintains the inventory control system and database using guidelines to achieve all service areas within the Perioperative Services. Responsible for maintaining adequate PAR levels and researching alternate product sourcing for new cost savings or substitute products. Identify opportunities for organizations to maximize cost-effective measures. Identify areas where one can reduce waste improve efficiency and eliminate unnecessary costs. This would include understanding using automated processes outsourcing non-core functions and optimize work with the supply chain.

Job Requirements Prerequisites and Essential Functions:

EDUCATION
a. Bachelors degree in business administration finance material management economics or related field OR (3) years experience in a related field.
b. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.
c. Understanding of AORN and AAMI guidelines preferred

EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum three (3) years of experience in a combination of purchasing contracting material management

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire

PREREQUISITE SKILLS
1. Knowledge of physician preference surgical products is required.
2. Proficient in a variety of software applications
3. Knowledge of healthcare inventory control guidelines is required.
4. Microsoft Office knowledge required
5. Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
6. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with many interruptions.

The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills experience qualifications and internal/market equity consistent with MarinHealths compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
