Job Summary

Retail Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) Control Lead

Your role & work environment
The Retail Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) Control lead is responsible for controlling the overall FCP Retail exposure across all FCP capabilities (CDD TM Screening).


Purpose of the Retail FCP Control lead is to prevent Financial Crime by pro-actively functionally steering the FCP organization and activities in all Retail countries via the country FCP leads. The Retail control lead has the delegated authority (obtained from the Head of FCP Retail) to on a day to day basis functionally steer the FCP leads of all Retail countries.


Scope & Impact
The Retail FCP Control lead is responsible for all activities in Retail countries related to remaining control on:

  • FCP Operational effectiveness and establish the RAS per country.

  • Understanding regulatory changes issues and link these to the FCP way of working and processes.

  • (Guidance on) regulatory reviews and performs the link to FCFP Risk & Control

  • Governance including process changes and delivery

  • Risk & Control drive MIAs and KCT and performs the link to FCFP Risk & Control

  • KPI/KRI definition and monitoring


You will lead a team of 4 FTE based in NL and ING Hubs Philippines.

As a lead you will work closely together with FCP leads in Retail countries Hub leads and a broad range of colleagues in the FCFP domain.
You report to the Head of Retail FCP within the global FCFP organization.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Governance Risk & Compliance: establishing robust governance structure that ensure transparency accountability and compliance across FCP Retail related topics like regulatory reviews KCT risks & control. Strong oversight of all risks.

  • Consistent adoption of controls and compliance frameworks.

  • Timely reporting

Leadership & Talent Development: leading coaching and empowering team members (functional and hierarchical) to optimal performance and build succession strength. Key outcomes:

Strategic Alignment & Vision: Define targets for Retail FCP

  • Set targets together with business line Retail and FCP

  • Strong trust-based relationships with stakeholders.

  • Effective sponsorship and advocacy for Retail initiatives.

  • Measurable adoption and sustained business value from BAU and change

How to succeed
A leader who will act as a behavioral role model with focus on delivery and content displaying the following behaviours and skills:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent level.

  • Growth mentality and ability to inspire.

  • Minimal 10 years of experience in KYC or similar role.

  • Relevant track record of working in the area of FCP and thorough understanding of the current market.

  • Understanding of key regulations and their respective effects on the FCP processes.

  • Proven track record in organizing and planning large changes.

  • Proven track record in senior management and stakeholder communication.

  • Ability to display style flexibility and adapt plan approach and behavior to the different needs and situations.

  • Strong organizational sensitivity: ability to understand and take into account the underlying issues opportunities and dynamics of an organization.

  • Ability to take responsibility steer strategy and realizations based on facts and data; managerial courage to question and make decisions.

  • Focus on delivery through collaboration ability to bring people together to work towards the same purpose.

  • Ability to empower teams to act autonomously think out of the box and hold them accountable.

  • Ability to simplify complexity.

  • Ability to support yourself and other team members in development.

  • Strong resilience: ability to navigate through ambiguity.
