Position Description
Although trained as a front office receptionist for the practice. The person in this role will have a focus in their day-to-day tasks be screening and scheduling intakes. As the first point of contact for many of our clients providers and community partners we are looking for someone who is great with people. They should also have a strong understanding of the complexities of mental health and is passionate about working as a team player. A front office receptionist understands the need to be patient courteous and deliver superior customer service to each new caller and client who walks into our office. - Be primarily responsible for screening new clients and scheduling appointments according to client preferences and requests
- Update the clinical opening resources and utilize other resources/ interfaces to streamline operations
- Greet clients that come into the practice warmly and respond to any concerns or requests.
- Assist clients through received calls or in person requests
- Updating demographic information at point of contact with clients.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is on file for clients at point of contact (ex: consent for treatment is current)
- Answering incoming calls to the company and routing as appropriate
- Assist with tracking external referrals and communicating with internal clinical team members to assign clients appropriately
- Completing insurance verifications for Husky/Medicaid clients
- Assist with keeping waiting room tidy and ensuring our space is welcoming
- Inform Practice Manager of any issues involving furniture equipment technology
- Problem-solve incoming inquiries from clients and providers
- Filing faxing copying as required for tasks etc
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be efficient with strong skills in prioritizing organization problem solving and attention to detail.
- Previous experience as a receptionist or customer service within medical office required. Experience in behavioral health services preferred.
- A love for working with people!
- Strong computer skills including navigating emails spreadsheets and documents. Experience with Google Workspace preferred
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to uphold the highest standards
- Ability to prioritize tasks exercise sound judgment when needed
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Schedule: - 8.5-hour shift with two paid breaks and one 30 minute unpaid meal break.
- Monday & Wednesday: 11:30am to 8pm 18 Hillside Ave Naugatuck
- Tuesday & Thursday: 11:30am to 8pm 205 Wakelee Ave Ansonia
- Friday: 8:30am to 5pm 18 Hillside Ave Naugatuck
Education: - High school or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors preferred.
